Reward: 2-year institution, $1,000- and 4-year institution: $2,000.
Eligibility: Live in the following counties: Dallas, Tarrant, Rockwall, Ellis, Collin, Hunt, Kaufman, Denton, Hood, Wise, Johnson and Parker. Plan to enroll in an undergraduate course (12 hours credit hours): 2-year or 4-year institutions.
Must be a current senior in high school or graduate or current in postsecondary undergraduate (25 years of age or younger as of the application deadline). Read more information at IME Becas.

Julieta V. García, 2023 Distinguished Speaker

On April 14, 2023, the Center for Mexican American Studies hosted Julieta Villarreal García, recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom and the first Latina to serve as president of a college or university in the United States in 1986. “Persistence Counts” covers the experiences and achievements of Dr. Julieta V.
